🛫Aviation & Airspace Rules

Operating aircraft within UKCore Network is considered a privilege, not a right. Aircraft can significantly impact the roleplay environment and must therefore be used responsibly, realistically, and fairly at all times.

All players must obtain a valid in-city pilot’s license before operating any aircraft.

Pilot licenses can be obtained in character (IC) at Sandy Shores Airfield, where players will receive aviation training along with additional IC aviation procedures and operational guidelines.

These rules apply to all aerial vehicles, including:

  • Fixed-wing aircraft (planes)

  • Helicopters

  • Any other aircraft introduced to the server

By obtaining a pilot’s license, players agree to comply with all aviation rules and airspace regulations at all times.

1. Aviation Conduct

Aircraft must always be operated in a safe, realistic, and controlled manner.

Pilots are expected to maintain professional aviation roleplay and avoid behaviour that disrupts immersion or gameplay.

The following expectations apply:

  • Aircraft must be flown safely and responsibly

  • Reckless or dangerous flying is strictly prohibited

  • Pilots must avoid actions that would endanger players or vehicles

  • Aircraft must not be used to grief or disrupt roleplay

All aviation activity should reflect realistic piloting behaviour.

2. Airspace Priority

Certain aircraft have priority within the airspace.

Priority order is as follows:

  1. Emergency Service Aircraft (Police, Medical, Rescue)

  2. Law Enforcement Aircraft

  3. Civilian Aircraft

Civilian pilots must always give way to emergency aircraft, particularly during:

  • Active emergencies

  • Rescue operations

  • Police pursuits

  • Medical evacuations

Interfering with emergency aviation operations is strictly prohibited.

3. Emergency Aircraft Protection

Emergency aircraft are protected assets used for essential roleplay operations.

Players may not:

  • Rob emergency aircraft

  • Steal emergency aircraft

  • Interfere with emergency aviation operations

  • Intentionally block or obstruct emergency landings

Any attempt to interfere with emergency aviation services will be treated as a serious rule violation.

4. Aircraft & Roleplay Fairness

Aircraft must never be used to gain an unfair roleplay advantage.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Escaping active police pursuits

  • Avoiding ongoing roleplay situations

  • Quickly relocating during active criminal activity

  • Using aircraft as a permanent scouting or surveillance tool

Aircraft use must always allow fair counter-roleplay.

If an aircraft is used as part of a valid roleplay scenario involving law enforcement, players must observe a reasonable cooldown period before:

  • Using another aircraft

  • Re-engaging in criminal activity

5. Low Altitude Flying

Low-altitude flying over cities or populated areas is not permitted.

Flying below safe altitude is only allowed when necessary for:

  • Takeoff

  • Landing

  • Approach to helipads or designated airfields

The following behaviour is strictly prohibited:

  • Buzzing buildings

  • Flying dangerously low over roads

  • Flying close to players or vehicles

  • Repeated low-altitude passes over populated areas

Pilots must maintain safe and realistic flight altitudes whenever possible.

6. Landing Regulations

Aircraft must only land in appropriate and realistic locations.

Approved landing areas include:

  • Airports

  • Airfields

  • Helipads

  • Realistically suitable landing zones

Aircraft may not land in:

  • Busy city streets

  • Public roads

  • Heavily populated areas

  • Rooftops without helipads

All landings must be conducted in a safe and controlled manner.

7. Aircraft Surveillance

Aircraft must not be used as constant surveillance platforms for criminal activity.

Examples of prohibited behaviour include:

  • Constantly scouting for police movements

  • Tracking players or groups for extended periods

  • Providing continuous aerial intelligence during crimes

Aircraft may only be used in ways that support fair and balanced roleplay.

8. Pilot License Responsibility

Holding an aircraft license within UKCore Network is a privilege granted to responsible players.

Pilots are expected to:

  • Follow all aviation rules

  • Maintain realistic aviation roleplay

  • Operate aircraft responsibly

Repeated violations may result in:

  • Temporary grounding

  • Aircraft usage restrictions

  • Pilot license suspension

  • Permanent removal of aviation privileges

Claiming ignorance of these rules will not be accepted as a valid excuse.
