📜Roleplay Over Ruleplay
The purpose of server rules is to guide roleplay and maintain fairness, not to interrupt or break immersion. Players are expected to prioritize continuing the roleplay scenario rather than stopping a scene to argue about rules.
If you believe a rule has been broken during an active roleplay situation, you must remain in character and allow the scene to conclude naturally.
Handling Rule Breaks During RP
If a potential rule break occurs during an ongoing scene:
Stay in character at all times.
Do not stop the roleplay to argue about rules.
Do not mention reports, clips, bans, or punishments in character.
Allow the roleplay to continue and conclude naturally.
Breaking character to call out rules during a scene is considered OOC disruption and may result in administrative action.
Reporting Rule Violations
If you believe a rule was broken, you may take the following steps after the scene has concluded:
Submit an IC ticket where appropriate to handle issues within roleplay context.
Open a Discord support ticket with staff if the issue requires administrative review.
Provide clear evidence, such as clips or screenshots, if requested by staff.
Staff will review the situation and determine whether a rule violation occurred.
Roleplay Over Ruleplay Principle
In some situations, strict rule enforcement may disrupt a high-quality roleplay scenario. When this occurs, staff may apply the Roleplay Over Ruleplay principle, allowing the story to continue if it creates a better overall roleplay experience.
Examples may include:
Allowing a scene to continue for narrative purposes
Temporarily overlooking minor rule issues that do not negatively impact the scenario
Prioritizing immersion and story progression over strict mechanical interpretation
Staff Authority
All decisions regarding Roleplay Over Ruleplay are made by server staff, with final authority resting with the Head of Gangs and Server Staff.
Staff may:
Allow exceptions in specific scenarios
Void or adjust situations if rule violations significantly impacted the roleplay
Take administrative action where necessary
All decisions made by staff are final.
